Ect

Other "secret" DIDs are generally in higher values like 86 or E0 ect. Have to scan through them all to see what's supported, and if any have valuable information like vin, security keys and stuff like that.

Also note, PID means parameter id, which is what you use for reading engine data like rpms, speed.
DID's are programmable parameters which generally hold all major settings.

Id be interested in attacking the BEM and icc... Just those headunits cost a small fortune.

I'd be interested in the bem, theres no way on earth i'm playing with the premo ICC though. your right about the pricing of them, although they are getting cheaper. in a side note i have a pov pack BA xr one surplus to me needs now might have to have a play with it, i should also in a few weeks have a blue BEM that i may have a look at too. maybe find eeproms get reads and post them here if its not too off topic, and there is interest

Go for it mate, I went on a tangent reverse engineering the clusters lcd protocol haha.

The way to go is attempting everything over OBD comms, no danger that way, just read out all the DIDs, and try match up what does what. Or even save a backup of the original dids, then try changing them 1 by 1.

Worse comes to worse you just write back the originally DIDs!

Still waiting of the E-prog. I will just use a iron, I find it easier than the hot air gun for the small stuff, wouldn't think I'm SMD certified :) lol...

Memory module arrived for the mirrors, and it's a no go, but seat's are also a no go in the Fairlane, I think that because the dash wiring may be different which already got swapped to the XR6. I should have tried everything first before the conversion, that inpatients for ya. Might be why the courtesy lights also don't work.

Just realised there was some data posted up.

The response to 21 EE and 21 FF were both failed out of range (not supported) responses.

Only certain DIDs are supported.

I have the Fairlane Hi-Series Dash out, I will pull the XR6 low series dash out and read it when I get a chance.

I figure I can change the face plate and my XR6 Low series becomes and Hi-Series. A couple things may be out of calibration, i.e. speedo and fuel tank.

BTW I took a chance and can successfully read and write without removal.
Anyone need any chips?, I purchase quite a few in anticipation I may have issues.

I couldn't get a read or write on the board at all.

Pickle7 I can get you a Xr hi series dump off my ba one if you like, it's a sedan so speed should match and if yours is petrol sedan the fuel gauge should too. Either way ill get a dump off.

Uploads still broken?

I've done it about 30 times now trying to figure out the mapping, being in electronics there's a few little tricks to it but 100% working. Still I'm a little over it as I have to keep going back to the car to test the changes. I priced up some loom's for a test rig and lets just say buying a complete going car would be cheaper. $450 just for the RHS loom (rip off)
