Still I'm a little over it as I have to keep going back to the car to test the changes. I priced up some loom's for a test rig and lets just say buying a complete going car would be cheaper. $450 just for the RHS loom (rip off)

Ah so not a straight forward clip on and read then. ;)

Yeahhhh... Generally have to search for a good cheap deal on a wrecked vehicle.

Id say for a base model V6, you should get the whole thing for $50-70. Well I did for the Holden equivalent. :D

I see alot of fleabay units having been disappearing quickly ;)

Id say our local ford hackers here are picking them all up!

Yeah I noticed that as well.. I went to see what ford clusters are available in my watch list.. And they were all gone!!!
I don't see them being resold so dunno what's going on there.

Don't buy from that Aussie seller. He will know absolutely nothing about what he is doing, or even how to use the software with fords. He's just reselling direct from the manufacture for more.

I'll send you a PM with the website and seller I purchased from. Works great with the ids software. But you can't use the "newest" version of ids as the clones have been blocked out.

Figured I best post this up so noone else gets caught out.

A few people have been looking at getting VCM2. And the first victim has been hit by using the VCM on the latest version of IDS.
The NEWEST IDS version BRICKS the VCM. The developers check the VCM's details for blacklisted ID's and then brick the device upon updating it. :?

Only way to use the newest IDS version is to purchase a legit VCM from the proper online store for ~$2000aud. And then a license for IDS ($1000+ for a year). Smart cookies can get away with no license (only the very smart cookies from what Iv read).

Alternatively, a Mongoose pro for FORD is the next choice in line. This doesnt work for IDS but does for the other software. I will be getting one soon I think and purchasing a license to use for the ford programming tool so I can do the newest reprogramming (hopefully!).

Just a word of warning guys! ;)

Yep, I've bricked mine with v94. The IDS came with V94, I installed it, updated the VCM and its now more or less a paperweight.

I can get it to boot in recovery mode but all attempts to reflash it fail. Grrr.
