Fantastic progress! I've had a couple of days away with work myself, back home tonight so will get playing and keep you all posted.

Test Results are in. I wacked them together in a quick spreadsheet so it should be easy to go through.

Reading through this it looks like a lot of progress has been made! I've had a flat out week with work and haven't been on to check until now. My BF is off at the panel shop so I won't be back into it until next week.

Running both of the original bins posted at the start of the forum sent the tacho and speedo silly in my BF cluster, which leads me to think that there must be a way to adjust speedo calibrations. I don't think that's an option available through the G-scan, but the Ford scan tool (IDS) I used when I was at Ford was able to do it I'm pretty sure. It would be cool to be able to do though, I know mine reads 5km slow.

Food for thought...

The Speedo and Tacho settings cannot be changed by the WDS/IDS at Ford. But there are Speedo and Tacho settings within the EEPROM.

There probably will be a ppk for the speedo and ppr for the rpms. This will allow for the cluster to be change between v6/v8 and update speedo calibration.

Otherwise, based off what matt posted previously. Maybe just search for 7000rpm. Or, to save bytes, they might do 7000/50=140? Well, they do something like that for the Holden's, could be something similar.

Ok now i am hoping slightly that i am wrong with this as otherwise it will involve very large numbers, but see if this continues the sequence of +2,

I could really use a dump of a cluster on an even number, and more especially a dump file that is an even number divisible by 16 + 4

Ok, things are coming together, the repeats are likely because i am not adding something to it each iteration, but lets see if we can atleast hit the right ball park,

Attached is another shot at 123456km using different constants,

it seems whenever i take it out of bounds it displays 777215km, and if i throw a half valid sum into it it throws it into some test mode, this seems like a quick and easy way to do some bounds checking,

it also looks like it relies on the first byte rather than the latter ones for the testing, or my last tests should have thrown much bigger errors than a few hundred each way,

The fact that the original files displayed correctly on tim's dash is a worrying prospect as it rules out an easy linear mapping for most of what i have looked at.

So as for the moment i can not think of many more avenues to try I'm going to share an excel sheet which will at-least be able to produce the pattern from a seed, in hopes of spurring on some more development,
