It's not wrap it is the sheathing around the cable as it is shielded. It will be under the black cloth tape so you will need to cut the loom open to see it

What are you trying to do exactly silversv6?
And just to confirm, you already have the video connector on the iq unit? What options does your car have?

Hi shterk, I am fitting a reverse camera to the IQ. It has the reverse sensors & has already got the video plug in the IQ. Rse has been enabled. I just need to find the connector under the dash for the camera. Cheers

quickest place to find it is just on the drivers side right at the video plug...

it is either going to go across to drivers side and be in a squarish blue plug or over to the passenger side behind the panel where the fuse box is

No. not in pass kick panel. The only connector is near the video plug and it is about 1cm square and white. The wiring to the connector is covered in beige foam. thanks doubledip.

Ah right, well what doubledip said is pretty much right, my gut feeling is that the connector is to the left of the iq unit however looking at the factory schematics I can't exactly verify its location. I'm still trying to piece it out for you so stay tuned.
That white connector you mentioned is a ground circuit connector and is of no importance to you.
Did you have the video connector come with the car or did you purchase it separately? Normally they are only included if you have factory reverse camera and or RSE DVD player.

Yeh I know, dd knows his stuff. The video plug was in the car when I bought It. Do they use the video plug for the reverse sensors? The only other thing could be that the pins & wiring are not in the video plug for the camera or the connector is hidden pretty well. Cheers Scotty

The plug is only used for video purposes so no it has nothing to do with the sensors.
Are you sure you don't have a rear camera already? Don't mean to question you to that degree it's just that I find it odd that you have the plug already but it's not used!
What you can also do to check the extent of the existing wiring is to remove the rear plastic trim holding the roof lining, pull down a bit on the roof lining to reveal a white plug connector attached to the roof and take note of the wires going in to it (this is applicable to wagons only) and I can find out for you if the wires are there already for the rear camera.

definately no camera!! Here is a pic of the video plug in the IQ & the white connector in the hood lining near the tail gate. The connector has 17 wires going in & 17 going out to the t/gate. How doe's the reverse sensor show up on the Iq screen, it must be connected some how? to turn the camera on you have to switch of the sensors.
