With a scantool/tech2:
When you add/learn keys for the engine side you are connected to the Immobilzer module not the BCM.
When you learn keys for the doors side you are connected to the RFA module not the BCM.

Only thing you learn on the BCM is the SDM key or the brake pedal.

Follow-up: Two years later, that one evening was the only glitch from the junk yard body control module. Everything has worked fine since then.

Looked at the schem today and ckt 397 is the "ON" input from the switch to the cruise control module. If there is continuity from the switch to the module on that circuit you most likely have a bad module. Make sure your "cruise" fuse is good.

Andy-That sounds like a great way to go, one little problem. Im not great at reading schematics and although I know the color of the wire at the module for CKT 397, I am not sure which color wire that is at the turn signal cruise switch?? There are four wires at the switch.

Hey guys, i have been trying to no avail to get reverse and neutral safety signals for an engine conversion via the bcm.

So far i have succeeded in powering up the bcm and getting the tiptronic working in vehicles but i am having to resort to micro switches on the shifter to get the neutral safety working

Anyone with a better understanding than myself have any insights?

My 06 Vue is having Remote Keyless Entry RKE problems. Since both of my key fobs are not responding to new batteries, cleaning and re-synching, Im told that it may be a problem with the Body Control Module BCM.

Has anyone had to have BCM repairs/replacement done? What was the cost involved?

Thanks for your help.

Hi all, hoping to get advice on where to locate the body control module in my SP20 hatchback. I have a warning light on the dash & according to owners manual it could be no brake fluid checked & fine worn brake pads or the body module, pads are fine as well so need to remove module & have it inspected/repaired. Thanks in advance. Andy.
