VE SV6 SIC Oil Pressure readout

Specific interior modification information for Holden Commodore VE and VEII Series Commodores, and HSV E1, E2, and E3 models

Postby torquative » Thu Oct 29, 2015 5:43 pm

Hey all,

I have attempted extensive research but haven't been able to find the answer.

I have a 2010 (I believe its MY9.5) Series 1 VE SV6 SIDI .
Using Tech 2 I turned the Sports mode on the SIC to find it displays the battery voltage, but oil pressure is blank (its a 2 gauge display)

Is there something I can do with TIS2WEB to allow the oil pressure to be shown, or does the SIDI not have a pressure sender?

I dont want to pay $55 for TIS2WEB to find its pointless. Ive read the oil temp can be activated via TIS2WEB for 3 panel SIC displays.

Cheers

Matt

anyone?

I was really hoping to get this sorted so I can upgrade the head unit to a SSV and have the gauges as well instead of a blank info panel.

No TIS2WEB update. The ECM is not sending the oil pressure, it is possible that it could be turned on in tuning software (like the very early model VE V8s that had the same issue). You can still use the SIC with the SSV unit it will just wont display oil pressure. And if you want to hide that fact, flash it to 2 gauge Atari bar style like the early models that had the same issue ;)

thanks mate

it is a 2 gauge atrari style bar so it shows Batt and Oil pressure but oil pressure isn't working.
From what I've read the early V8's didn't display Oil TEMP in the 3 bar atari gauge setup

Sorry my mistake. Yes oil temp wasn't sent on the earlier VE V8s (which could be turned on )

The sidi v6 should be sending oil pressure info (and oil temp) just fine.
Sounds like you might have a problem with the pressure sensor - have you tried connecting up a scantool to check ?

hey mate,

thanks for the reply.

Ive tried again and still no oil pressure.

I had a look through diagnostics on the Tech 2. I could see oil temp no worries, but the only thing for pressure I could find was Oil Pressure Switch - OK
I couldn't see anywhere it was displaying a readout for oil pressure other than that the sensor was OK

There's no DTCs logged either.

I'll have a look on the Tech2 and Dashcommand on the weekend, I thought it might be displayed in the live engine data somewhere.

thanks mate,

I appreciate any help as I would love to get the oil pressure reading working if possible.

Cheers

In all the ones I have flashed on 2010, it has not displayed. For the SIC to see it the ECM must be broadcasting (not requesting the PID just continually broadcast (PPEI)) and then the BCM will convert it to GMLAN 29bit frames.

0x4D1 byte 2 on HSCAN is pressure. Byte 1 is oil temp (0 to 7 bytes)
