Holden 08 VE Fault codes return after driving P0856, P0500

Discuss Diagnostic Trouble Codes and Parameter IDs for the Holden VY and VZ Commodores, Pontiac GTO, Vauxhall Monaro, and Chevrolet Lumina Models

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I have been having trouble with the engine light coming back on after driving a few minutes once the Diagnostic team have erased the fault codes and the engine light was turned off.

The same fault codes come up and each time they erase them without problem and turn the engine light off. So why then does the engine light keep coming on after I drive the car a few minutes?

These are the fault codes that are easily erased but reappear on next diagnostic scan.

P0856 TRACTION CONTROL INPUT SIGNAL

P0500 VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION

C0277 BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT – SHORT TO GROUND OR OPEN

C0161 BRAKE SWITCH CIRCUIT - FAILURE

Can someone please shine a light on what might be going on with this car?

Much thanks in advance!

I had all those and it was my steering spring sensor.Have you had the steering wheel off lately?

Actually now that I think about it its probably a wheel speed sensor thats bad that will cause the others to fault out as well
