what would be good is a place that has bin fins to compare and play with

update put cluster in my car and went for drive did before and after reads now going over the stuff now....may have found more bytes to change than first thought

Stick with it. I know for a fact it can be done - just those in the know have kept it very quiet.

i cant keep going i got about as far as i can without help and noone wants to give away their secrets im at a standstill without help its over

Like I said before, moving up into the clusters comms is the only way to go with these modern technologies.

Developers are making algorithms and security ALOT harder on instrument clusters to prevent such alterations. One thing they cant protect from, is attacking it through emulation ;)

i have no idea about emulation
if i had a car to put dash into and drive and then re read it it might work but i dont have the car to suit that cluster:(

Neither did I till I jumped onto the OBD2 bus and started learning about it all and how each module communicates with one another.

Once the basics are understood, it becomes alot easier ;)
