Diagnostic Trouble Code Description:
Fuel System too lean (I6, bank 1- V8).
DTC P0171 is reported to indicate the air fuel ratio is incorrect, too lean.
The adaptive fuel control strategy has reached the limit of available mixture correction.
Possible Mechanical Faults
external leak at fuel injectors, externally leaking fuel pressure regulator, leaking fuel rail, inadequate pressure from fuel pump, fuel injectors contaminated with foreign material, blocked or restricted fuel filter
Possible Sensor Faults
*INTAKE AIR CONDITION air leakage down stream of Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor,V8 engine, loose inlet duct resonator, V8 engine vacuum leaks, faulty or defective positive crankcase ventilation system, faulty Evaporative Purge (EVAP) Canister or Solenoid
Possible Wiring Faults
Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) signal shorted to ground; moisture in harness connectors, blown HO2S heater fuse
Possible Module Faults
Leaking exhaust system; leak at manifold slip joint, I6 engine, leaking joint between engine pipe and catalyst converter, V8 engine, leak at engine pipe to manifold joint, damaged or leaking exhaust manifold gasket, faulty sensor
