Diagnostic Trouble Code Description:
Idle air control system condition, RPM lower than expected.
DTC P0506 is reported if the idle speed (engine RPM) is lower than expected-high idle speed during self-test
Possible Mechanical Faults
Extreme blockage of the air inlet system or air cleaner. improper adjustment of throttle stop screw. NOTE: idle speed is controlled by the IAC. The throttle stop screw must not be adjusted.
Possible Wiring Faults
Improper connection, Idle Air Control Valve (IAC) signal open circuit, IAC signal shorted to Vehicle Power (VPWR)
Possible Module Faults
Faulty IAC valve, faulty or damaged PCM
