Quick little play. Vid attached

Rear Outside Temp from GMLAN
Read left scroll wheel button press
Output 3 chimes to cluster with short delay
Output text to display

TMK: What do you know about headers starting with C0?

like this with the engine running:

Head:C052040 Length:8 Message:1 3D D1 0 97 9D 68 4A
Head:C052040 Length:8 Message:1 3D D1 0 97 9C 68 4A
Head:C052040 Length:8 Message:1 3D D1 0 97 98 68 4A
Head:C052040 Length:8 Message:1 3D D1 0 97 9D 68 4A

The 6th byte is something but I cant decode the ARB etc because C0 breaks the bits to far and ive found no info on them. Any ideas? I thought maybe oil pressure or RPMs, something like that

0C 05 20 40 =

Pri:0x3 Arb:0x029 ECU:0x040

Priority is 3, Arb is 29, and ECU is the Engine ECU. Bible has ArbID 0x029 = Engine Info 1.

Never totally figured that one out. I think GTOsoft has some possibilities there.

DOH! I forgot to put the bloody 0 on the front of the C. I was reading it as C0 not 0C. Explains why the ARB ID was higher then Joe Cocker. I was a fair few beers down by then though :p

Engine RPMS

HEAD: 0x0C050040
ARBID: 0x29 - Vehicle Speed Info (weird coz the ute was parked and not moving)
ECU: 40
PACKET: FF 00 00 xx xx 24 00

Divide by 4

Pretty sure this is right. Someone care to compare? Still trying to work out what the one last night I posted is. I might up the value and parrot it on the network, see if I can get the SIC to display something else, or at least piss it off lol

EDIT: Well if I go into engineering mode and go to Coolant Temp its the only one that flicks around when I send a packet so MAYBE its coolant temp. Must be pretty bloody raw though if its moving around that much. Still dont know though

Put a vid up on FB. I did a quick hack so if I scroll up it unlocks the doors and if I scroll down it locks the doors. LOVIN GMLAN at the moment. Just with I had a week off work and a trickle charger to nail most of the things I wanna read and things I wanna do with it. I think im going to try and see if I can get Remote Start working. Ive seen the commands around the net and I know I can enable the option in the tune in the ECM. Be nice to press the unlock button 3 times and fire up the car

Bummer. Cant get remote start to work. I looks like its kinda trying to work. I enabled it in the tune and I sent the packets. The indicators flash as they have said would happen when its going to remote start but no go. I was in the car locked with the keys out of the ignition but the radio was on. So maybe this causes a no remote start condition. I dunno

Thought I'd whip up a quick hack to enable the nav input when I press the nav button. I've hit a snag. I can't read the nav button. I'm starting to think that the button won't send a command unless the nav has registered with it. I haven't tested registering it and seeing of I can read the button press and the 6 down the bottom but at the moment I Definately can't

As always Jezza, you are around 2 weeks ahead of the rest of us plebs (With TMK being the obvious exception)...

I finally have my head wrapped around how this stuff works, but I wanted to make things easier for myself,
and anyone new to this game...

Soooo....

14830

And......

14831

I will make the software open source for anyone that wants to play...
(Just need to fix the ArbIDs that I have, as most of them I have entered incorrectly)...

I will probably release this early, and then try and integrate with the Can Sniffer software..
(I want the sniffer software to automatically map the ArbIDs and ECUs, as well as highlight anything that is new, or not known)...
There is around a couple of more days worth of work before this is ready...
Once its complete I will release it...

Cheers

I feel the need...... The need for some more logging :)

Is there anything anyone wants me to try / log ????

I am thinking of trying to log the following ArbIDs
0x09 - Infotainment Operation Allowed (See if we can get these damm Headunits working on the bech or something)..
0x60 - Climate Control (Just in case anyone wants to move to a full InCar PC setup, and remove the factory deck)..
0x63 - Climate Control Status (As per above)
0x8b - Pers Park Assist Req (It would be interesting if we can get some park assist crap working on the colour LCD screens)
0x8c - Pers Park Assist Status (See above)....

There is sooo much to sniff, its like a playground at the moment Lol !!!!
