Hey everyone, I'm new here so dont be too harsh, I know there is a guy who will enable gtf gauges in mk2 icc units, my question is would that be in a software update or is that something he has found in the asbuilt files? My mrs has a 2013 xr6 which has just had the icc replaced, and due to that it has the final software update that ford released for them, any help would be great :D

what a read.. so much can be done with this unit but i couldnt quiet find what i was after..

2014 fg mk2 ute with colour icc bluetooth etc.

rear end smash recently back from repairer (who wont admit to fucking anything) and now icc screen doesnt work, went to ford. $165 later and still icc is blank. apparently i need to bend over for $1600 for them to replace. with 3 hours labour..

Other than buying a new or second hand screen and fitting it what can be done? Is it just a straight swap out if i do buy one from another fg or is there some flashing involved where i need ford again?

i'm an electrician so will have a crack at just about anything to fix, tho i cant see any component issues on the board as of yet..

thanks in return

hiya all!

No idea if anyone is still frequenting this forum (is there a new place everyone has ventured off too while investigating this stuff?)

Anyway, incase anyone is still around. Did anyone ever figure out why the FG ICC's die from voltage spikes?

I'm getting a number if them come in recently with blank screens or doing weird things after the batteries been changed or the ICC's been pulled out and the common consensus is a voltage spike is killing things in the main display.

Ive heard musings of it possibly being one of the flash chips that holds all the software of the ICC that goes bad, and when the ICC is finally fully powered off (as it seems they never fully do, so they never fully reboot and clear their ram), it tries to load from a bad/corrupted chip and there lies the problem (black screens, stuck at boot logo, corrupted images, etc)

Irk's me terribly that i can find what component is blowing and that i have to send them away to a few bigger electronics places for repair (they obviously know what it is!), along with a hefty price tag to my customers for something as simple as a dead battery change.

Any info or points in the right direction would be great!
