hi all Just wanted to share this info
I have an 07 ex police car, the window would not move, I pulled the switch box out and pulled it apart, very tricky job, springs and clips etc fell out. i found that coffee had been spilt in it and the switch contacts were covered. i cleaned them and put it back together and now it works fine been working good for a year. must warn you that you have to be very careful, I pulled it apart by first placing it in an old babies bath so if a spring or contact fell out it would not be lost, also nearly lost a spring about 2mm in diameter and 5mm long, needed my magnifying glass's to see it. This website (zerone) has a good example of how to get the switch out. (didn't know about it at the time). I went a step further and pulled the switch apart as I thought it was stuffed anyway so no loss if I wreck it. I would rate it about an 8.5 out of 10 for difficulty.

Yeah, the power window switch can be a real pain in the bottom to take apart.
When my switch stopped working, it was beginning to rain (heavily) and I couldn't get the window back up.
I stopped in an underground car park and waited for the rain to stop, and drove back home to see what I could do.

Shorting the window up line was the first thing, which luckily worked.
I then took the window switch gear apart (in a mad rush to try and get the thing sorted)...

BIG MISTAKE on my part, as I didn't realize how many little diddly bits were inside there.
I lost a couple of bits (I'm sure they are probably cat toys now), so I ended up buying new switches from Holden to get myself out of trouble.

I still have the old switches here, and I should take them apart, and take pictures for everyone, so as they can see what a pita these things are to deal with !

Cheers, and thanks for sharing your experience Grant :)
