Series II IQ Question

Specific interior modification information for Holden Commodore VE and VEII Series Commodores, and HSV E1, E2, and E3 models

Postby ThunderSnow » Sat Jun 08, 2013 9:43 pm

How do I turn my rear speakers on in my VE SV6 Ute? I contacted Holden they told me to plug speakers into "the radio" and they will automatically work.

Is it possible for someone to put up a step by step guide if I do need a Tech 2 so I can show them.

Cheers

If you are in Sydney, there is a guy at Castle hill who can do it for you. Let us know if you need him.

A bit of advice from experience: If your system is reflashed to enable the rear speakers and your sv6 is 2010 to around november 2011, make sure it is reflashed with the same version software as it has now.
The later software takes out a lot of bass & the loudness button does F all. It will then take holden 6 months to get a tech to fix it. BELIEVE ME!! Mine is still not 100% to how it was in original form.
cheers

A bit of advice towards your advice. I don't really notice the sound difference that much if Any from early to late software flashes and upgrading the software actually helps fix alot of bugs that the iq's have. So if Holden flash back to fix speakers they are also reintroduce the faults the iq has again - just do others are aware that the software updates better to have than not have.

Hi doudledip, as you know the trouble I had with my sv6 sportwagon IQ, the bass loss was huge, the loudness button done nothing at all & to top it off the front centre will now not fade out when faded to the rear. I never ever had one glitch with my IQ before and since it has be flashed back it still has no problems except for the centre speaker not fading out now. There is a whole list of people complaining about this same sound quality loss on another forum.

Thanks for the advice, the car is a 2012 model Sv6 Thunder I have removed the centre speaker already and I plan to install a alpine 5 ch amp with speaker level input. It would be a lot easier if I could turn the rear speakers on.

Yep, that would be easier but unfortunally the rear speakers have to be turned on when the IQ is being flashed (software). I don't know of any one in Darwin who mucks around with this stuff, but you local holden service can do this for you if they are keen enough.....cheap enough.....or mainly SMART enough. let us know how you go. cheers
