VZ SS flutes into VK guards & others.

How to fit VZ SS flutes.
TOOLS: nibblers, ballpein hammer, flat hammer & dolly, drill & 1/2 inch bit, a decent file, multi grips & maybe tinsnips. 1-2 hours per guard.
Face the flute down on a piece of paper then trace around it. Mark where the tags for the clips go.
Draw another line 15mm inside that line. Allow an extra 35mm for the tags & trim them back later.
Tape the template to the guard in the desired position making sure you have room behind & around the flute. Drawn the inside line onto the guard & don't forget the tags. Lift 1/2 the template & fold it back to the outside line. Do the other half trying not to move the template. Draw that line on the guard as well (fold line) KEEP the template for the other side.
On the inside edge of the inside line, drill a 1/2 inch hole for the nibblers then cut it out. You could use a good pair of tinsnips if your keen enough.
With the multigrips, start folding the 15mm section back slowly & evenly. Use a ball pein hammer & dolly to create the corners. Use the flat hammer & dolly for the straight section to keep it sharp & as straight as you can. Keep fitting the flutes as you go until they fit pretty good.
Fold up the tags allowing about 3mm between the flute & the tags for the clips to fit between & keep a bit of tension on the flutes.
you will probably have to trim little bits off as you go & splice a few cuts into the corners so they are easier to pein. Drill the holes in the tags for the clips.
Once your done give them a nice file up & you may need a tiny amount of bog to get them perfect.
I had to use about 30-50 grams of bog on one guard which was fairly damaged prior & the other just 2 good coats of primer/filler & they fit perfect. The guard with no primer was fairly damaged & stretched from the top crease almost down to the bottom crease, but I didn't do too bad with the hammer,dolly & file.
Don't forget to hook the blinker up. Just splice it into the front blinker & run the wire under the guard nice & tidy
