Hi there Matti, I was shocked when I saw that directly after my post! I thought...help no-one if they talk to you like that!! I was only trying to help him. Hope he comes back to join us.
I know this isnt the thread, but I had my VE II sv6 sportwagon IQ change to blue by holden & now there is hardly any bass from the door speakers (front or rear). if I fade them to the rear I cannot hardly hear the rear door speakers although the front centre speaker is still LOUD. Any ideas? Thanks.. Scotty

Aaaaargh... Good ol Holden IQ updates !!!!!! :x

Yeah, at some point Holden reduced the amount of Bass adjustment that you can make with the Bass / Treble settings.
The reason being that people were blowing the stock factory speakers by pushing too much Bass through them.

(A very stupid reaction IMHO from Holden. There was nothing wrong with the Series I, and IQ systems before this update).
Instead of warning people about driving excessive sound through the factory speakers (and denying warranty claims for such things),
they decide to cripple the system for everyone !

(I know the factory speakers are shocking, but I personally would prefer to replace the speaker with a much better quality item if I accidentally blew the speaker, rather than cripple the head unit so as I never blow the POS speakers apart)...

The latest updates also cause a missing VIN error when retro fitting an IQ unit to a Series I.
(Turn the Ignition to off, and in around 30 seconds the radio stops working, with a missing VIN error message).

My 2c / end Rant Lol

Yeh I just thought it might be something to do with changing to the blue IQ screen coming from a Calais, V series. I have read that there are settings for 2,4 & 5 speaker system. Saying that they have subs & factory amps (calais v's) therefore may lessen the power to the door speakers if your screen is changed to blue allowing for the subs to work better or they may have it set to 4 speaker system. Booked holden for Fri morn to see what they have to say bout it. I will be SCREAMING at them to have it the way it was. Next they will be taking 50 kw from me so I don't blow the donk!!
Thanks & cheers

Thanks Matti (for removing the huge screen-length spams AND answering Silversv6)

Disregard Silversv6 - was NOT aimed at you. 'A funny thing happened on the way to the forum...'

I got emails on my phone about 3am from this website (carmodder) telling me of an update to posts I 'had been watching' (stupidly I had forgotten to switch my phone to silent before going to bed). When I logged into the site I found this longwinded advertising spam had been posted to several forum articles I had been watching under the guise of being a legit post.

I honestly believe that the one and only thing the americans have almost gotten right is allowing us normal decent folks to sue the arsehats who propogate spam - the only side effect has been that they then get their chinese/russian/african counterparts to send it for them - sometimes to great effect (the grammar they use in their spams is often hilarious)

anyhow... back to the forums!

sorry to say but i doubt holden will do anything - in normal flashing you cant "down grade" an update... the software doesnt allow it... only under certain circumstances they can request a VCI number which will allow them to flash an older update in but i would be 99% certain they are not going to do that

Sorry for turning this thread into an IQ.....not a cluster thread, I may have to start thread!! Anyway, my IQ already has the video connector in it for the reverse sensors. any one know where the connector is under the dash for the reverse camera? Found two on the glove box side..one empty the other has two wires already connected (i think they are for rev sensors). I would have to pull have the dash half apart to trace the wires. Easier if some one knows. thanks & cheers.

Hi Doubledip, no grey & pink wrap under my dash. All my cables are covered with black cloth type wrap like elastoplast. the plug behind glove box closest to IQ I am sure is for the glove box light. The one near pass kick panel has nothing in it. I am assuming that there is already a connector, as the reverse sensors come on the screen, but be buggered if i can see another one, unless it's hidden somewhere else. From what I can see, the RSE connector (20 pin out from IQ) joins into one larger harness above the IQ. If no luck I might run down to the wreckers & see if I can find one with the dash stripped & trace one there. Cheers, Scott
